【摘要】:Masonryunitsaloneandwithinassemblagescommonlyfailinatensilemodewhenloadedincompressiontofailure.ThesetensilestressesresultfromdifferencesinmodulusofelasticityandPoissonrsquo;ratiobetweenthemasonryunitandmortar.Additionally,thedissimilarityinbehaviorofthegroutwithincoresofmasonryunitsunderloadleadstotensilestressesintheunitsandresultsinasplittingfailure.Thistestmethodproducesalineloadalongthebedsurfaceofthemasonryunit.Thecompressiveloadappliedtotheunit,imposedbymeansofbearingrods,resultsinatensilestressdistributedovertheheightoftheunitforthesplitlengthoftheunit.Thistestmethodcanbeconductedwiththerodorientedeitherinthelongitudinaldirectionorinthetransversedirectionofthebedface.Thesplittingtensilestrengthiscalculatedbytheequationgivenin7.1.Thetestvalueprovidesanindicatorofmasonry-unitsplittingtensilestrength.Additionally,thepresenceofdefectssuchasvisiblevoidsorimpuritiesinmasonryunitsmayberevealed.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthesplittingtensilestrengthofmasonryunits.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.

【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandardprovidesstatisticalmethodsforevaluatingpointestimates,confidenceintervals,predictionintervalsandtoleranceintervalsforthefailurerateofitems,whosetimetofailurefollowsanexponentialdistribution.Thisimpliesthatthefailurerate(seeIEV191-12-02)isconstantwithrespecttotime.Itshouldbenotedthatalthoughreferenceismadeabovetofailurerate,thenumericalmethodstobedescribedareequallyapplicabletoothereventratesprovidedthetimestotheoccurrenceoftheeventfollowanexponentialdistribution.Thus,withthisqualification,thenumericalmethodswillapply,forexample,toconstantfailureintensitiesandconstantrepairrates(seeIEV191-12-04andIEV191-13-02respectively).Forconvenience,however,andtoavoidunnecessaryrepetition,referencewillbemadeinwhatfollowsonlytofailuresandfailurerates.Useoftheproceduresinthisstandardshouldbesupportedbyteststoconfirmthevalidityoftheassumptionofconstantfailurerateorfailureintensity(seeIEC60605-6).Thisstandardisalsoapplicablewheneverarandomsampleofitemsissubjectedtoatestoftimestofailureforthepurposeofestimatingmeasuresofreliabilityperformance.
