【摘要】:Chlorideispresentinvirtuallyalloilfieldbrines,seawaters,andmanywastewaters.Identificationoftheoriginofthewaterandselectionofitsdisposalmethodmaybebaseduponthechloridecontent.Thechloridecontentisalsousedtoestimatetheresistivityofformationwatersandtodifferentiatebetweensubsurfaceformations.1.1Thistestmethodisapplicabletothemeasurementofchlorideinhighlymineralizedwaterssuchasoilfieldbrines,seawater,andbrackishwater.Thetestmethodisbaseduponthetitrationofchloridewithsilvernitrate,usingavisualindicator.1.2Samplescontainingfrom10to150mgofchloridecanbeanalyzedbythistestmethod.Theselevelsareachievedbydilutionasdescribedinthetestmethod.1.3Itistheuser'sresponsibilitytoassurethevalidityofthemethodforuntestedtypesofwater.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
